Troubleshooting

  • Headlight won't turn on  Check that the julet connector is fully seated with arrows aligned. If the lamp still doesn’t work, confirm that the cable isn’t pinched and try again.
  • Basket feels loose → Open the quick-release levers, tighten the nuts slightly, and re-secure until there is no movement when you twist the basket.
  • Rack doesn’t fit onto the brackets  Contact support for assistance. In some cases, you can use a drill to slightly expand the top holes of the rack for a precise fit.
  • Handlebars don't turn smoothly left or right  Make sure you added and positioned the zip-tie correctly when securing the headlight cable. If the cable pulls tight or restricts movement, re-zip-tie it loosely, leaving enough slack for full handlebars motion.
  • Headlight beam is too high or low → Loosen the mount bolt, adjust the light angle, and retighten until it points slightly downward to light the road.
  • Cables rubbing or pulling when turning → Make sure the headlight cable has enough slack. Reroute under the bamboo deck and secure with a zip-tie, leaving free play for full handlebar movement.

⚠️ Note: Do not ride if the basket or headlight is loose, or if the headlight cable pulls tight when turning the handlebars. Re-secure before use.

FAQs

  • Do all MOD BIKES require the headlight to be moved?
Yes. Every model requires removing the headlight first, installing the basket, and then reinstalling the lamp under the basket.
  • Can I keep the lamp on the fork with the basket installed?
No. The headlight and basket occupy the same space, so the light must be relocated to the basket.
  • How tight should the quick-release levers be?
The levers should take firm hand pressure to close. The basket should not move when twisted side to side.
  • What is the weight limit for the front basket?
The front basket can safely carry up to 45 lb (20 kg). If unsure, pack light and ensure the basket does not flex or wobble.
  • How can I keep items secure inside the basket while riding?
    We
recommend using the MOD Cargo Net, designed to fit perfectly over the front basket and keep your belongings snug and secure while you ride. You can find it here.
