Tools you will need

  • 2.5 mm Allen wrench
  • 3 zip ties
  • Bolt Tray (or any small container for screws)
  • Cable snipers or scissors

Preparation

  • Power off the bike.
  • Work in a bright area where you can easily access your handlebars and display cable.

Steps | All Bikes

Step 1: Access the Display Cables

  1. Unzip and remove the sleeve that protects the front cables.

  2. Cut the zip ties that hold the cables together.

  3. Untwist the spiral plastic organizer to expose the cables running down the handlebar.

Step 2: Disconnect the Old Display

  1. Locate the Julet connector (green) coming from the display cable and pull it apart carefully without twisting.

  2. Use a 2.5 mm Allen wrench to remove (counterclockwise) the single bolt securing the display’s control buttons on the handlebar.

  3. Using the same Allen wrench, loosen and remove (counterclockwise) the two bolts that hold the display in place on the handlebar.

  4. With both bolts removed, gently open the display clamp with two fingers and slide the display off the handlebar.

Step 3: Pull Out the Display and Buttons

  • Pull the display and button controls out completely from the handlebar and set them aside.

Step 4: Install the New Display

  1. Slide the new display onto the center of the handlebar, making sure to include the rubber circular pads under the clamps.

  2. Slide the display control onto the left handlebar.

  3. Use a 2.5 mm Allen wrench to tighten (clockwise) the single bolt securing the display’s control buttons on the handlebar.

  4. Using the same Allen wrench, tighten (clockwise) the two bolts that hold the display in place on the handlebar.

Step 5: Connect the New Display

  1. Align the arrows of the green Julet connector and push both ends together until you feel a soft “click.”

  2. Twist the spiral plastic organizer to cover the cables running down the handlebar.

  3. Zip-tie the cables together and cut the excess ends.

  4. Zip the cable sleeve back into place.

Step 6: Test the New Display

  • Power on the bike by holding the “i” button, and confirm that the display lights up.

Troubleshooting

  • Display won’t power on  Make sure the green Julet connector is fully seated and the arrows are aligned. Verify that your battery is properly connected and charged before testing again.

  • Display turns on but doesn’t respond to buttons  Double-check that the control buttons are securely plugged in and that the connector pins are not bent.

  • Display flickers or restarts while riding  Inspect the display cable for loose connections or tension near the handlebar. Make sure the cable is not pinched under the stem or zip ties.

  • Display moves or tilts while riding  Loosen the bolts, reposition the rubber pads under the clamps, and retighten evenly to secure a firm grip on the handlebar.

  • No pedal assist after replacing the display  Power off the bike and reconnect both the display and button connectors. A loose or partial connection can interrupt communication with the controller.

FAQs

  • Do I need to reprogram my bike after replacing the display?
No. The new MOD display is plug-and-play and automatically syncs with your existing controller.

  • How can I clean the display?
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid water, alcohol, or chemical cleaners that can damage the screen.

Warning

⚠️ Important Safety & Liability Notice
