Steps
Step 1: Shift Into the First Gear
Shift until the red marker on your gear indicator lines up with 1.
This pulls the derailleur inward, protects it during folding, and reduces chain slack.

Step 2: Raise the Kickstand
Fully lift the kickstand so the bike can pivot freely during folding.

Step 3 (Optional): Remove the Battery and/or Seat
These are optional but helpful, especially for transport.
- Remove the battery to reduce weight and make the bike easier to fold, lift, or load.
- Remove the seat to make the folded size even more compact
Step 4: Fold the Main Frame
Stand on the hinge side of the bike to make folding easier and more controlled.
Pull back the black safety clip on the frame hinge.
Open the main latch.
With one hand, grab the bike from the seat area. With your other hand, grab the head tube so you can guide the fold. Then, swing the frame to the left until fully folded.

Step 5: Fold the Handlebar Stem
- Locate the red safety latch on the stem and push it.
- Then pull the lever outward to release the stem.
- Fold the stem downward.
Note: Keep the wheel facing straight to prevent cables from wrapping around the stem.

Step 6: Fold the Pedals
- Press the pedal inward toward the bike.
- Then fold until it clicks into place.
- Repeat on both sides.

Step 7: Secure With the Frame Strap
Unwrap the strap behind the battery.
Loop it twice around the fork closest to the frame.
Tighten the strap to secure the folded bike.
Note: Do not loop the strap around any cables.

Step 8: Rest the Bike on Its Support Leg
Once fully folded and strapped, you may gently rest the bike on the ground.
The MOD City+ has a small support leg under the frame that allows the folded bike to stand more securely.
Note: Make sure the bike is stable before letting go.

Step 9: If Laying the Bike Down for Transport
- Lay the bike on its derailleur side only. Lower it gently so no pressure is placed on the derailleur.
Note: This is the opposite of a normal bike, but necessary to avoid damaging the brake levers.

Step 10: To Unfold
Reverse each step:
Remove the strap
Unfold pedals
Raise the stem and lock the latch
Swing the frame closed and lock the main latch
Always verify both latches are fully locked before riding.
⚠️ Warning: Make sure both folding mechanisms are fully locked and that no vibration or movement is present in the hinges before riding.

Troubleshooting
Bike won’t stay folded → Ensure the strap is looped around the fork only and pulled tight.
Pedal won’t fold → Press inward firmly before folding; ensure debris isn’t blocking the hinge.
Handlebar stem won’t lock → Check that the latch is fully closed and the safety catch is engaged.
Frame won’t close smoothly → Confirm the chain is correctly shifted to gear 7.
