Estimated Time

5 - 10 Min

Before You Start

Tools you will need

  • Multitool with Allen Wrenches (included in your bike tool kit)

Preparation

  • Park your bike on a stable surface.
  • Make sure the workspace is well lit.
  • Unbox your pegs and set aside the included bolts and washers.

Steps

Step 1: Locate the Rack Mounting Points

The mounting holes are located at the bottom of the rear rack on both sides.

Step 2: Unscrew Mounting Bolt from Peg

Step 3: Install the Rack Peg

  1. Insert the mounting bolt through the rack hole from the inside, pointing outward.

  2. While holding the bolt head in place with one hand, thread the peg onto the bolt with your other hand. Turn the peg clockwise until it begins to seat.

  3. As the peg reaches the end of the threads, align it correctly before tightening:

    • The two flat sides of the peg should be positioned on the top and bottom.

    • When folded, the peg should close toward the back of the bike.

  4. Using your multitool, select the 6 mm Allen wrench and fully tighten the bolt until the peg is snug and does not move. Be careful to avoid contact with the disc brake rotor while tightening.

  5. Repeat on the other side.

Note: Rack foot pegs are designed to fold but do not lock in the folded position. They are intended to remain extended during use. This design allows the peg to fold on impact to help absorb force and reduce the risk of damage.

Step 4: Test Peg Movement

  • Ensure the peg stays secure and doesn’t vibrate.

Troubleshooting

  • Peg feels wobbly → Confirm both washers are installed and re-tighten bolt
  • Peg does not fold backward → Reinstall peg so it folds toward the rear of the bike

FAQs

  • Do rack pegs lock into position?
No, rack pegs do not lock; they fold backward to help prevent damage in case of impact.
  • Are rack pegs compatible with passenger accessories?
Yes, rack pegs are designed for all rear rack passenger setups.
  • Can I use rack pegs instead of frame pegs?
Rack pegs mount to the rear rack, while frame pegs mount to the frame. Use the peg type that matches your accessory.
